WHY WE STARTED

Building Confidence Where It Matters Most

ShikshaGhar ("Education House") began when a small group of Nepalese educators and software engineers recognized a stark divide in public schools: while children attended daily classes, very few had hands-on exposure to computers, robotics, or real-world problem-solving tools.

Upon finishing secondary education, thousands of bright youths faced dead-end career paths without practical digital competence or guidance. We stepped forward to transform empty rooms in public schools into vibrant technology laboratories, staffing them with passionate volunteers and structured curriculum.

Milestones Along The Way

2014 · Founding

ShikshaGhar Registered in Nepal

Established as a student support non-profit in Kathmandu, launching weekend tutoring and book collection drives.

2017 · Digital Labs

First Computer Lab in Budhanilkantha

Refurbished 15 desktop workstations in partnership with Govt School Budhanilkantha, introducing basic computing classes.

2023 · Expansion

STEM & Robotics for Girls Launched

Specialized engineering workshops designed to empower female students with microcontroller kits and coding mentors.

2026 · Present Day

Over 10,000 Students Reached

Expanding across 12 partner schools with new 10-day AI training camps and an active network of over 100 volunteer mentors.
